A blog contains a wide variety of contents. The topics of the post can range from technology to fashion, from actors to athletes, from a certain product to the new sensation. A single blog acts like a digital magazine with numerous surprises for its readers each day. On the other hand, a website represents one product, one person and a similar kind of tech. Its contents are of similar genre.

3) Formal Tone


Blog and website use different tones to address its readers. The website generally uses a formal tone to describe its contents while a blog uses a much simpler and informal tone for that.

When it comes to blog and website, people are usually scared of the coding part. If you are opting for a blog, you don’t have to worry! For setting up a blog, you do not have to be an expert in coding. You just pick up a template and start off with the basics of coding. In case of a website, you need to be an expert in HTML5, CSS3, PHP and etc.

A blog has a chronological listing of posts. All the posts are arranged from latest to old. Every time you go through a blog you find some new contents while there are no listings on a website. Its data is usually static.

For a blog and website, the homepages are totally different. In a website, the homepage describes the basic contents of the website. It tells the viewers about the type of products the website deals with. However, a blog’s homepage is flooded with a wide variety of posts which no similarity at times.

A blog is mostly considered active depending on the number of active users it has. The amount of readers determines a blogs rating. A good rating is very essential for blogs to run successfully and get as much traffic as possible. On the other hand, a website is not affected by the ratings as much as the blog.

8) Timings


Proper timing is very essential for a successful blog! You need to post your posts on usually between 8 PM to 12 to attract more readers towards your blog. However when it comes to a website, time has nothing to do with it. A website is independent of time.

9) User Interaction


Out of the blog and website, blog is considered to be more interactive. It offers users with an option to comment, like and share the posts. While when it comes to a website, the admin usually blocks the comments privilege thereby making the website less interactive.

10) Search Engine


Whenever a user searches using a certain search engine, a blog is searched more as compared to the website. Since the content of the blog keeps changing, it comes in the searches more. However, the content of the website is static so the website comes in limited searches.
